RTR UK Ltd, the company that pushed the boundaries of breakdown recovery by creating ‘pay as you go’ cover, is now continuing to innovate by allowing its members to access the service at the touch of a screen through the Road To Recovery iPhone App.
The App uses the member’s phone’s GPS to locate their position and then puts them through to the RTR call centre who despatches local recovery to the scene. Thanks to the Road To Recovery scheme, which is free to join, the cost of recovery is 50-60% cheaper than contacting a local recovery operator direct because all RTR providers sign up to a fair pricing commitment. That is why more and more motorists and fleet operators are ditching traditional ‘pay whether you need it or not’ breakdown cover and taking the Road To Recovery.
Paul Hoyle, MD of RTR is used to breaking the rules;
"When we introduced a breakdown recovery scheme that you only pay for when you need it, our competitors thought we were mad. They trade on people’s fears but the reality is that most modern cars are very reliable and the chances of a breakdown are actually quite small. We decided that people shouldn’t have to take a chance and pay for a service they may not use but if they did need it that it should be priced fairly. We have now taken an innovative service and created an innovative way to access it through the App. We think it’s the future of breakdown cover!"
The Road To Recovery scheme works by providing a central link between recovery operators, who benefit from higher volumes of business, and motorists who are spared the cost of a service they may never use but have the reassurance that it is available should they need it.
Currently the App is available for the iPhone and will be available on the App store shortly. It is also in the process of being developed for Android phones.

RTR Further cements its commitment to the VRO Industry by offering them a Genuine Subsidised Web Design Program. There are nearly 3000 VRO outfits in the UK but more than half have no Internet presence at all. Many advertise their services on either Yell.com or some other Business Directory but with no link to a website.
Consumers, Trades People need more than just a phone number or an email address if they are going to initiate contact with you. You have to supply more information about yourself period!
Remember! This is 2011, No business can flourish without some kind of Internet Identity.
There are many reasons as to why so many businesses are still without websites. The most common ones are, Extreme Prices, The Business Owner refusing to move with the times because they don’t understand it all, Laziness, and not knowing where to start.

RTR Accident Management UK’S main focus has always been towards the Recovery Operators Industry. This industry is at the forefront of Accident Management as they are always first at the scene along with the relevant emergency services.
Even though the scene operator is being paid for his services RTR is always looking for ways to help and promote the industry as a whole.
In December 2010 RTR launched its Online Database with the view to increasing each Operators exposure on the web. Most Consumers, Businesses carry out online searches when looking to enlist the services of a particular industry. Operators need online exposure now as Paper mediums are a thing of the past or very soon will be.
Registration to this database is free and the results will be part of the public domain. All of the database pages will be optimised so that the search engines can find them. In the long term as more Operators add their business details the stronger the pages will become with the likes of Google etc.
There are Premium Paid Listings available for those who wish to have more exposure but we have limited these to 3 per page so as not to drown out those that don’t have the budget for such listings.
Once completed anyone surfing this database will be able to find whichever Operator they are looking for within 3 clicks of their mouse. The Operators details won’t be hidden behind a Password Protected Login and the Navigation of the Database will be simple.
